When flying out of the Jacksonville International Airport, you have quite a few different parking options available. Familiarizing yourself with all of the options can help you make a better decision when it comes to figuring out what to do with your car while you are gone.
If you can’t get a ride to the airport or don’t want to take public transportation, you will need to figure out a place to park your vehicle. The best option depends on quite a few different factors including how close you want to parts of the airport and how much money you want to pay.
In terms of official airport parking, the closest option is the hourly parking garage. This garage is located right next to the terminal and provides convenient access. Because it is the most expensive option, it is typically best for dropping off or picking up passengers rather than for leaving your vehicle on an extended trip.
The next option is to look into the daily parking garage. This parking garage is located a little further away from the terminal than the hourly parking garage. At the same time, however, it is also slightly more affordable, making it a good option for long-term parking. Because the parking spots are covered inside the garage, your vehicle is less likely to sustain weather-related damage while you are gone.
If you prefer, you can also park in the daily parking lot. Although this parking isn’t covered, it still provides convenient terminal access. It is also a lot cheaper than parking in either of the parking garages, making it a budget-friendly option.
For the ultimate savings, however, you should look into one of the economy parking lots. There are two lots available, both of which are located much further away from the airport terminal than the other parking options. However, there is a shuttle that runs back and forth from the airport throughout the day. That means that you can catch a ride to the airport after you park your car and when you get back from your trip.
If you prefer, there are also low-cost parking lots just outside the Jacksonville International Airport. These lots typically are run by independent businesses. Most offer shuttle service to and from the airport. They also usually have security on-site, making them a good option if you want to ensure that your vehicle is closely monitored while you are away.
